Technology in the Classroom
Students used SMARTboards to engage in interactive lessons with reading texts as a class, exploring concepts in math, viewing PowerPoints, and searching websites for examples.
Students use Netbooks in the classroom to work on websites such as Raz Kids, Study Island, Typing Web, and Fastt Math. They also worked on several projects both in the computer lab and on Netbooks using programs like PowerPoint, Prezi, and Google Drive.
Our class has a website for parents to view updates on what their child was learning throughout the school year. Pictures and class assignments are also updated on the site. By having this class website, I was able to maintain communication with parents, and students and parents were able to stay up to date on events and reminders. It has been a positive and beneficial way for parents and students to feel connected with our classroom community through this accessible resource, and provided another way for them to contact teachers and other parents.
